When I am asked to work with clients I stay in touch with them even after the formal relationship ends. I forward relevant articles now and then, and ask them for updates via their mailings and other means.  One client recently dropped me this note:

Hi Harold! I think of your coaching guidance frequently, thanks again. I think we are moving in positive direction, although to my sorrow I still have not managed to create a new website for myself. Totally stuck but haven’t given up yet. I’m very much enjoying some of my new clients, all of who are in the technology space, and it’s clear to me that the new clients came as a result of the sharper understanding of my business goals that emerged through our meetings.
